As a 17-year-old teenager, instead of fulfilling the father’s dream of becoming a doctor, he left home and traveled to the Himalayas, searching for the answers. He has visited the ashrams of Haridwar and Rishikesh, moved to the source of the Ganges, Gangotri, where stayed with the monks and spiritual Masters.
As he has found himself able to surrender to the Maters and become a part of a living tradition, the true knowledge of spirituality began to open for him, breaking all the patterns and stereotypes about religion, yoga, practice and life. Mitra Jee has stayed in the Himalayas, learned tantra practices from a living master and ended up in Varanasi, being initiated into Aghora tradition.
Masters say that one needs time for the knowledge to dissolve, for you to be able to digest and integrate it. So after many years of intense practice, Mitra Jee has returned into the world, but not to become a teacher or a guru, but to live an ordinary worldly life. 10 years have passed and only after this long break he felt himself ready to start sharing the knowledge with others. Known as a festival of colors, Holi has deep philosophical meaning behind it, this year this auspicious time is coming on 14 and 15 of March. So on these days we celebrate the new season in Nature and the new cycle in our personal spiritual journey.
Holi Festival story
Indian mythology says that there was a great devotee whose name was Prakhlad (which means "shadow"). He was a son of a demon but has been praying to Lord Vishnu since his childhood. His father was very angry because Prakhlad had never accepted him and was always saying that Lord Vishnu is the only God for him.
That demon had a sister whose name was Holika. She had received a blessing from the Lord Brahma that she could not be burnt in fire. So they say. So they decided to put the boy into the fire with her and burn him alive. Prakhlad was calm and was repeating the name of God even when the fire started to burn. The holy fire took the evil and Holika was burned to ashes while the boy stayed safe.
Since that time people started to worship the day of Holi, when the evil was defeated by the good, when the light took over the darkness, when the devotion won over the ignorance.
Known as a festival of colors, Holi has deep philosophical meaning behind it, this year this auspicious time is coming on 14 and 15 of March. So on these days we celebrate the new season in Nature and the new cycle in our personal spiritual journey.
